Puppy Trip and Vacation

So we have decided to take off on a cross-country trip. The main purpose of this trip is to pick up our horse that some call a dog. We will be seeing part of the nation and doing some fishing along the way. Truck is prepared, reservations have been made and we think we are ready to take off. 2700 total miles and perfect plan to make a bunch of new memories!
Disclaimer: There is someone going to be staying in my home in case someone is reading this and decides to come check out the empty house. This is on the internet you know.

** UPDATE - We never went. Major change of plans. Check out the Summer Vacation post!

Blue

Ok, so I believe most of you know we are looking into adding a member to our family. We are considering a dog. The boys have been after me forever for a dog. After the last zoo I used to have and the ruined house because of it, I have been sternly against it.
Well...life happens and I am now wanting another dog. We have zeroed in on one breed. I saw a full grown one and fell in love, I think.

We are considering a Blue Great Dane. They are the most beautiful animals I have seen. I researched many breeders and decided on one out of Michigan. Excellent stock, longer than average life span, no medical problems and gorgeous coats.

We put a deposit down and are 4th in line out of two litters that are due around July 7th. We are wanting a male with NO white markings at all. A solid Steel Blue male. The first one in line wants a female, the second wants a male with white markings and the 3rd wants the same as me. So out of two litters we have a pretty good chance.

Yes I understand big dogs leave big messes...but I am serious about training and will have an obediant clean dog...or I change out carpet. The boys have convinced me.

Photos of the Moms and the Dad are blow. Also when the pups arrive, I will post the photos I get. If the first one goes well, we will be getting a female for companionship.

Blue and Bella. A journey begins....

Port O'Connor Fishing Trip

We took a 3-Day fishing trip to Port O'Connor and fished each morning and evening. The goal for the trip was for Trevor to land a trophy Bull Red. A couple of years ago, we went on a similar trip but it was a Blast and Cast. Duck/Goose hunting in the morning and Fishing in the evening. On that trip, Brett shot a gorgeous Speckled Belly Goose. We mounted him on the wall, so this trip we wanted Trevor to get his mount.

Not only did he pull in a trophy fish, he caught TWO. His first was 37 1/2" long 29 lbs and his second was 42" long and 32 lbs. It took him 20 minutes to pull in the second one! Brett caugh lots of sharks, the only Spanish Mackeral in the whole camp and a few black drum and sheepshead.

We had a great time and yes Trevor's fish will be on the wall soon!
